Work-Related Injury Statistics Query System - Work-RISQS

Work-RISQS provides a web-based public access query system for obtaining national estimates (number of cases) and rates (number of cases per hours worked) for nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses treated in U.S. hospital emergency departments. Users may interactively query based on demographic characteristics, nature of injury/illness, and incident circumstances.

Improving Public Health Performance: Exploring Agency Accreditation

RWJF is helping local and state public health leaders to develop new tools to measure and improve performance. As part of this goal, the team is working with partners in public health to explore public health agency accreditation as a possible strategy to improve and enhance the capacity of state and local public health agencies. Census Bureau Releases Annual Estimates of Poverty Rates and Health Insurance Coverage

[UTF-8?]Real median household income remained unchanged between 2003 and 2004 at $44,389, according to a report released by the U.S. Census Bureau. Meanwhile, the nation’s official poverty rate rose from 12.5 percent in 2003 to 12.7 percent in 2004. The percentage of the nation’s population without health insurance coverage remained stable, at 15.7 percent in 2004.
