2nd Annual NEHF Day (Thursday, May 19th)
IC of Oklahoma's (Tulsa Bus Plant) Vital Lives Wellness Committee is committed to improving the quality of life of our employees through personal health and wellness. National Employee Health & Fitness Day is a fantastic event that promotes our vision.
We had our 2nd Annual NEHF Day on Thursday, May 19th. It was a great success. We had 154 participants competing as teams and individuals in five fun physical activities: Softball Throw, Rock Climbing, Golf, Basketball Shoot and Frisbee Golf. Our goal this year was to make NEHF day better by offering more incentives for employees to participate in starting or maintaining a healthy lifestyle. For example, we had special guest, former NBA player, Lee Mayberry greeting our employees; McDonalds donated 200 Fruit and Walnut Salads, Subway donated two 6-foot long subs; Coca Cola donated 150 units of water and sports drinks; Arby's donated t-shirts and coupons for free food; and Mikey's gym came out w/ give always and special offers. The Double Tree Hotel @ Warren Place donated a hotel stay for our overall individual winner. We also gave away $25 gift cards to each individual that scored the highest in each of the events. The overall winning team received a catered lunch. The Wellness Committee wanted to share with you our appreciation starting this wonderful event.
